The Criminal Justice Taskforce is charged with addressing issues facing African-American males in the area of criminal justice.  Members of this group, with assistance from the Key Stakeholder, The Marion County Justice Agency, will develop recommendations for actions to combat the problems African-American males face in the area of criminal justice.  The information will then be disseminated to appropriate agencies in the community.

Members of the Taskforce Group have identified the following issues as the most pressing:

1. Reduce the exposure of youth to negative influences and address their lack of fear of the consequences of committing crimes at an early age.

2. A lack of parental involvement and positive adult role models.

3. Recidivism / repeat offenders.
