Health Taskforce

The Health Taskforce is charged with addressing issues facing African-American males in the area of health.  Members of this group, with assistance from the Key Stakeholder, The Marion County Health Department (MCHD), will develop recommendations for actions to combat the problems that African-American males face with their health.  The information will then be disseminated to appropriate agencies in the community.

Members of the Taskforce Group have identified the following issues as the most pressing:

1. Lack of exercise, poor diet , and poor nutrition.

2. No or infrequent physical exams and screenings.

3. Lack of knowledge and basic awareness regarding the leading health concerns for African-American Males.

ICAAM acts as a clearinghouse for health related information in the community.

  • Project Health is a program of the Indianapolis Medical Society Foundation to help find health care for low income Marion County residents who do not have any form of health insurance. For more information on Project Health, click here.
