Volunteers needed for Big Brothers Big Sisters M-POWER! program. Mentors Provide Opportunities While Encouraging Responsibility, is a school-based program for 5th and 6th grade girls. Indianapolis Birthing Project (IBP), also known as the "SisterFriend Program", has mentoring opportunities to mentor pregnant teen/women (Little Sisters) of all ages. The SisterFriend is then paired with a Little Sister to provide support and encourage the Little Sister to receive prenatal, postnatal, well-baby visits and immunizations throughout her pregnancy until her baby turns one year old. Foster an attitude of achievement in African-American males and females, 9-17, who live in Indianapolis Public Housing and other disadvantaged communities, by providing them with knowledge and skills necessary to achieve positive direction in life. Summer empowerment camp meets two days a week for 6 hours a day during the summer season. During the school year, group meets once a month on the weekend for an event or field trip.
