Volunteers needed for Big Brothers Big Sisters M-POWER! program.  Mentors Provide Opportunities While Encouraging Responsibility, is a school-based program for 5th and 6th grade girls.  The girls meet weekly after school for an hour and a half and go through a curriculum on relationships, communication, education, careers, etc.  Looking for volunteers to be trained then matched with the girls to be their Big Sister.  They would go to the school every other week and participate in activities with their Little Sister.  Locations and times vary depending on the school.  The program is from January through May. College Mentors for Kids! Inc. is dedicated to cultivating ongoing one-on-one relationships between college and elementary aged students through shared experiences on the campus and in the community. For the duration of the school year, college students are paired with elementary students, creating a buddy pair. These buddy pairs meet in groups for weekly activities on the college campus. Through these activities, children explore new opportunities and begin to develop a larger sense of the world and their place in it. Foster an attitude of achievement in African-American males and females, 9-17, who live in Indianapolis Public Housing and other disadvantaged communities, by providing them with knowledge and skills necessary to achieve positive direction in life. Summer empowerment camp meets two days a week for 6 hours a day during the summer season.  During the school year, group meets once a month on the weekend for an event or field trip.
